Epidaurus & Spetses Island Full-Day Tour
About
The full-day tour begins early in the morning. Hop in the minivan and let’s start our excursion. First stop of the tour, the historical region of Epidaurus.
Epidaurus is worldwide known for:
- The Sanctuary of Asclepius
It was mostly visited by patients and petitioners from all around the Mediterranean.
- Epidaurus Theater
It is regarded as the best preserved ancient theater in Greece, due to its perfect acoustics, aesthetic and incredible construction. In addition, it is listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
For our midday meal, we recommend the local restaurants of the Old Town or of the nearby village “Ligourio” (optional). After lunch, we will head to Costa, in order to embark on the ferry to Spetses Island (sea route duration: 15 minutes). Spetses is the island of captains, kings and manor houses.

Spetses Museum
The exhibits portray the history of the island. From the exhibition of martial archeology on the ground floor, with findings from the world’s oldest shipwreck, the island of Dokos, to the finds from the excavations of the Early Helladic settlement of Saint Marina and rare ceramics from various parts of the world to beautifully painted wooden acorns.
Museum of Bouboulina
A guided tour at the national heroine’s home is definitely worth your time. The unique, Florentine-inspired furniture that create an impressive ensemble with the wood-carved ceiling of the main hall will enchant you. Moreover, the collection of weapons also magnetizes the visitors. The gift of the Tsar of Russia Alexander A., a Mongolian Sword, is the museum’s highlight. Bouboulina’s personal objects are displayed for the audience.
By foot, bicycle or by carriage, Spetses is a real treat.
Later on, we will return to Costa and then back to Athens.
